Bunn 10 cup coffee maker August 30, 2010 Vanessa D. Fitzgerald (Baltimore, Maryland) This was a back up purchase. We have this machine and the coffee is excellent!! Most of these quick brews barely leave the grinds wet and the coffee is so weak. Not this one! The coffee is great. It won't waste your money on coffee and VERY fast to make a pot. You will not be dissappointed!!!
Worth the $$$ August 22, 2010 Benjamin I typically wear out my coffee pots about every two years. Since purchasing this one 3 months ago, I can say that this coffee brewer is the best one I've ever had. As someone who has never used a BUNN, it did take some experimentation to perfect the amount beans and courseness of the grind on a burr grinder.
Pro's: coffee tastes great, brews really fast, and it's idiot proof when you're having "a case of the Monday's" and aren't functional before you've had a cup (or pot) of coffee first. There's only two buttons on this machine, and I hardly ever use either of them. The first is just a plate warmer to keep the coffee warm if you're going to leave it there (but does not affect the actual brewing process), and the second is a vacation switch that turns off the heating element inside if you're not going to brew for a few days.
Con's: Doesn't come with a butler to grind the beans and pour the water in for you. Espicially on Monday's!
BUNN ADDICT August 5, 2010 Pat Over the past 25 years I have owned 3 of this same Bunn coffee maker. I love having my coffee within seconds and it makes the greatest coffee. I like the glass carafe since you can see how much coffee is left. The thermal one I gues are good but you can not tell how much you have in the pot. When I went searching for a replacement (they do eventually leak) there was nothing that appealed to me and I kept coming back to my Bunn. I received my Bunn in 3 days and I am a Bunn, coffee, and Amazon addict. All my on line purchases are from Amazon. They do such a great job and I feel completely safe using my credit card with them.
Great tasting coffee, but not for everyone July 20, 2010 Alex Kofler (usa) Not to rehash what many reviewers already said: the coffee maker makes great tasting coffee, but is not for everyone. The heater is always on and the water reservoir is always full. Not a problem if you drink coffee all day long. I drink a cup or two every couple of days, so I would be wasting electricity and drinking stale water. Sure you can turn the heater off, but then you have to heat up 10 cups of water even if you want one cup of coffee. Waste of electricity and takes quite a while. As good as it is, simply not the right tool for the job, in my case. Back it went and still looking for a worthy replacement. Hard to top in terms of taste.
coffee lover in Seatle July 19, 2010 C. Magee (Washington State) I have had this Bunn coffee maker for only 2 days, and already I love it. The coffee is ready in 3 minutes and it is 189 degees. I tossed my old ice tea maker. The Bunn is faster, and I only have one appilance on the counter. I made half a pot a few minutes ago, and the coffee is just as delicious as a full pot. I also received a 20% coupon to Bunn [...]. So I purchased 3,000 Bunn coffee filters. I will have enough filters for years. There are a few draw-backs. The pot fits loosley under the basket. Most coffee makers' pots fit snuggly, so you know you have it placed correctly. I would prefer a reusabable filter like the copper or gold one I had with old Krups. Less waste, and garbage. The warming plate doesn't shut off automatically, so if you aren't careful, the pot can burn. If it is left on accidently while you are a way, your home's safety could be comprimised. It makes great coffee, fast and hot. The design could just use a few safety features. This is my first Bunn, I have nothing to compare it with. So far, I am satisfied.
