Perfect EDC for me August 22, 2010 David Krugh (Tucson Az) i spent days reasearcing multi-tools and finnaly decided on the leatherman wave. it has all the features i use daily and then some. i tryed carrying a victornox deluxe tinker but the pliers just didnt cut it, plus the tinker was bulky and has no means to carry it conveniently. the leather came with a decent leather sheath that will break in with some use im sure, i also baought the optional pocket clip jsut in case.
the greatest thing i like about the wave is that ALL the tools firmly lock into place and unlock safely, and i feel that with the leatherman i can get rough with it and it will have no problems what so ever,
i would strongly reccomend buying this over a victornox anyday!!!
oh btw for [...] bucks you cant go wrong!

It's ok. The knives are good and sharp. The action is too stiff. It is bulky.
Leatherman knows what they're doing August 17, 2010 Germain C. Giner (Chicago, Il) I have owned a 1st gen Wave for quite awhile, and only recently broke down and got the newer version. I shouldn't have waited. The "New Wave" is a splendid tool. Sure, it has the usual deficits, WAY too tight out of the box, the idiotic choice of Tamper Torx fasteners (really, why do I need Torx TX screws on my multitool?, stop saboteurs?) backing the joint fasteners off less than an eighth of a turn makes the tool much more useable and cleanable.
I have the all leather sheath, with a riveted belt loop, the only improvement over the original's brown leather sheath.
All in all, Steve Leatherman's 'New Wave' is yet another excellent product, with the usual quirks and caveats familiar to Leatherman users the world over. Highly recommended
Fantastic product! August 16, 2010 coryflips The product was exactly what my boyfriend wanted for his birthday. He read all the instructions and played with it all night and then went out and build a fence with it's help the next day. He is an avid hunter and won't go anywhere with out it. Thank you!
HOW about a "RACHET" model August 15, 2010 Leatherman is good stuff,...but they need to MAKE SOME MORE TOOLS ( other options for the buyer ). TO LEATHERMAN: please make a RACHET model, with screw drivers that fold out of the handle, a knife. We don't need the file, extra big knife,eye-glass screwdriver. JUST A RACHET with the basic PHILLIPS, 2 FLAT HEAD, med. knife......and A velro-belt holder with the room to hold the rachet and 3/8 to 3/4 inch. "sockets". Make sure the RACHET is under 41/2 inches long so it fits in TIGHT SPOTS, when useing it. PS. Don't forget the EXSTENSION bar.
